F.A.Q. (Faith Asks Questions)
Our
youngest Adult Class, FAQ, has become a solid new class and has completed
three different topics. Now we have
begun a
video-based in depth study of the relationship between Christianity and the
other major religions of the world.
Utilizing a video study developed by United Methodist pastor Adam
Hamilton, senior pastor of Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas,
this study deals openly and honestly with questions people ask about other
religions, including why we should believe the claims of Christianity over
those of other faiths. Each
study session includes a 10-15 minute segment by Rev. Hamilton, named by
PBS' Religion and Ethics Newsweekly as one of the “Top Ten People to Watch.”
The next two sessions will deal with Hinduism (January 17) and
Buddhism (January 24) respectively.
These sessions are interactive and discussion based.
Pastor Kay Gray and Director of Christian Education Rick Quinn will
lead the sessions every Sunday morning starting at 9:05am in the Diversity
Classroom.
New members of the group are welcomed and there is a wide age range
represented. The class begins at
9:05 and continues until 10:15 in order to
have adequate time for discussion.

***J.O.Y.,
Builders, and Fellowship Class
- These three adult Sunday School classes will be embarking on a rich
journey throughout the Old Testament during the Fall quarter.
These classes use a wonderful resource called Adult Bible Study.
A BS
offers engagement with the Bible in depth along with
practical application to life.
Included in the student books is a feature entitled “Daily Bible Study” where
you are given selected readings of Scripture fore each day of the following
week.
Each reading offers an opportunity to explore a facet of the lesson to be
studied the following Sunday. The
J.O.Y. class meets in room 201 in the hall going to the sanctuary.
The Fellowship Class meets in the chapel and the Builders’ class meets in
Room 219.
