Music Ministries
Music is a vital
part of the United Methodist Church, and forms and integral part of the ministry
at Donelson Heights. Along with the activities listed below, we often have
special musicians play during our services.
Joyful Echoes - This Choir is composed of 4 - 6 year olds. It rehearses from 9:00 - 9:25 a.m. every Sunday morning during the school year. The Joyful Echoes sing during Sunday Worship 4 or 5 times a year, as well as special Christmas and Spring programs.
Joyful Sounds - This choir is
composed of 3rd-6th graders. called the Joyful Sounds. It
rehearses from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday night during the school year.
The Joyful Sounds sing during Sunday Worship 4 or 5 times a year, as well as
special Christmas and Spring programs.

Handbell Choir
- This is an intergenerational group who enjoy the ministry of ringing
bells. They rehearse every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at selected times of the
year. They play during
Sunday Worship 4 or 5 times each year, and on occasion, accompany the Chancel
Choir during an anthem.
Chancel
Choir - (Chancel Choir is on summer break and will
resume rehearsals on Wednesday, August 16, 2010) This is group is also intergenerational in makeup, for anyone from
9th grade and above who enjoys singing. This choir leads worship and and
sings a special anthem 48 - 50 times during the year as well as a special
Christmas program. The group rehearses
at 6:15 p.m. each Wednesday evening.
That's okay! The Bible doesn't ask a thing about CAN you sing, it tells us TO SING! We are to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord!"
